Serial Port 0 Configuration

The submenus allow the user to configure the following settings for Serial Port 0:
Serial Port
Select Enabled to enable a serial port specified by the user. The options are
Enabled and Disabled.
Device Settings
This feature indicates whether or not a reset is required for a serial port specified.
Change Settings
Use this feature to set the optimal Environment Control Interface (PECI) setting
for a serial port specified. The default setting is Auto, which will allow the AMI
BIOS to automatically select the best setting for the PECI platform.
P/S 2 Connector
This option enables the selection of keyboard or mouse for the PS/2 connector.
The options are Keyboard or Mouse.
Watch Dog Function
If enabled, the Watch Dog timer will allow the system to reboot when it is inactive
for more than 5 minutes. The options are Enabled and Disabled.
Serial Port Console Redirection
COM 0
Console Redirection
Select Enabled to use a COM Port selected by the user for Console Redirection.
The options are Enabled and Disabled.
Console Redirection Settings
This feature allows the user to specify how the host computer will exchange
data with the client computer, which is the remote computer used by the user.
Terminal Type
This feature allows the user to select the target terminal emulation type for Con-
sole Redirection. Select VT100 to use the ASCII Character set. Select VT100+ to
add color and function key support. Select ANSI to use the Extended ASCII Char-
acter Set. Select VT-UTF8 to use UTF8 encoding to map Unicode characters
into one or more bytes. The options are ANSI, VT100, VT100+, and VT-UTF8.
