Selecting a vehicle seating location with LATCH:
The LATCH attachment system (Lower Anchors and Tether for CHildren)
provided on this car seat is for installing the car seat in a vehicle seat equip-
ped with LATCH anchorages (lower anchorages and top tether anchor).
To locate a seating location equipped with LATCH anchorages in your vehi-
cle, check the vehicle owner's manual or contact your vehicle dealer or
manufacturer.

Adjust the vehicle seat back into the upright position or the recline
adjustment specified in the vehicle owner's manual. The back of the car seat
must be in contact with the vehicle seat as described in "Vehicle seat back
and Headrest adjustment" section.
Attachment and adjusting top tether:
Lengthen the top tether belt by pushing the adjustment button and pulling on
tether hook.
- Place car seat on vehicle seat in a seating
location equipped with the LATCH
anchorage system.
- Remove the LATCH connectors and top
tether from their storage locations and
place outside seating area (Fig. 20).
- Center car seat on the vehicle seat
between LATCH anchorages so that the
back of the car seat contacts the vehicle
seat back.
