Assembling and dismantling the front wheel

In order to transport the EPAC in your car you can dismantle the front wheel.
WARNING Danger from falls and accidents
If the wheels are incorrectly mounted this may result in dangerous riding situations, falls and
accidents. Check that the wheel is correctly mounted before you use your EPAC again.
·
Check that the front wheel is positioned in the centre of the front wheel fork.
·
Shake the two wheels vigorously at right angles to the direction of travel.
– The wheels must not move in their mounting.
– No cracking or grinding noises should be heard.
·
Check whether the quick-release lever or thru axle is correctly closed, see section 8.4 Quick-
release axles, thru axle.
WARNING
Danger of burns
After long downhill rides it is possible that the brake discs have become very hot.
·
Do not touch the brake discs immediately after a downhill ride.
·
Allow the brake discs to cool down for at least 5 minutes before touching them.
·
In order to check the temperature, tap the brake discs briefly with your bare finger. If these are
hot, wait a few minutes and repeat this test until the brake discs have cooled down completely.
NOTE:
Your EPAC has a disc brake. After dismantling the wheel you should use the enclosed transport lock when
transporting the EPAC. Remove this only immediately before installing the wheels again.
