Replacing your locomotive's headlight

Y
our locomotive is illuminated by a 14-volt lamp located directly behind the boiler face.
During the course of normal operations, the lamp may require replacement.
Lamp replacement involves removing the locomotive's boiler face from the front of the
locomotive.
Begin by turning the locomotive over on a soft, protective surface. Remove the single screw
located beneath the front axle on the pilot truck, this will allow the Hudson's boiler face to be
removed.
Mounted inside the boiler face is the lamp. Replace the expired lamp with Lionel part
no. 610-8049-300, then reinstall the boiler face on the locomotive's boiler, and retighten the screw.
