Replacing your locomotive's lamps and LEDs

Y
our locomotive is illuminated by several
lamps and LEDs. During the course of
normal operations, the lamps may require
replacement. The LEDs are expected to last
for the life of the locomotive.

Replacing the traction tires

Y
our locomotive is equipped with two
traction tires. These rubber tires
increase the tractive effort of your
locomotive, allowing it to pull more cars at
once. During the course of normal
operations, the traction tires may become
worn out. To replace the traction tires,

We recommend that you have all LED and
lamp replacement done at an authorized
Lionel Service Center. See the Lionel Service
section on page 20 for more information.
remove the two Phillips head screws that
secure the side frame to the truck. Slip off
and replace the old traction tire, then
replace the side frame. Extra traction tires
are available from your authorized Lionel
Service Center or from Lionel Service.
