NOTE: If the above-named plugs
are not available, consult your
Suzuki dealer.
To install a spark plug, turn it in as
far as possible with your fingers,
then tighten it with a wrench.
CAUTION
Improper installation of the
spark plug can damage your
ATV.
An overly tight or cross
threaded plug will damage the
aluminum threads of the cylin-
der head.
Carefully turn the spark plug by
hand into the threads. If the
spark plug is new, tighten it
with a wrench about 1/2 turn
past finger tight. If you are
reusing the old spark plug,
tighten it with a wrench about
1/8 turn past finger tight.
REMARKS
If the standard plug
tends to run cold.

CAUTION
Dirt can damage your ATV if it
enters an open spark plug
hole.
Dirt can damage engine parts
that move.
Cover the spark plug hole
while the spark plug is out of
the hole.
To maintain a hot, strong spark,
keep the plug free from carbon.
Adjust the gap to 0.7 – 0.8 mm
(0.028 – 0.031 in) for good igni-
tion. Use a thickness gauge to
check the gap.
