The weight of your loaded trailer
(Gross Trailer Weight) should
never exceed 180 kg (400 lbs)
when towing on uneven surfaces.
When towing at low speed along
a straight level path, you may tow
up to the vehicle towing limit of
450 kg (992 lbs). Spread the
cargo in your trailer so that the
Tongue Weight is about 10% of
the Gross Trailer Weight. You can
do this by placing about 60% of
the total cargo weight in the front
half of the trailer. Make sure the
cargo weight is even between the
right and left sides of the trailer.
 WARNING
Overloading your trailer can be
hazardous.
An overloaded trailer can affect
the handling of the ATV.
Never overload your trailer.
 WARNING
Improper distribution of cargo
in your trailer can be hazard-
ous.
Improper cargo distribution
can affect the handling of the
ATV.
Always make sure that Trailer
Tongue Weight is about 10% of
Gross Trailer Weight.
 WARNING
Allowing cargo to shift in a
trailer while moving can be
hazardous.
Cargo weight shifting while
moving can affect your ability
to handle the ATV safely.
Make sure that the load in your
trailer is properly secured and
will not shift while moving.
 WARNING
Riding your ATV without extra
caution when towing a trailer
can be hazardous.
Trailer towing can affect the
handling and braking of your
ATV.
Tow only at low speeds and
never exceed second gear.
Avoid sudden acceleration and
stopping of the ATV. Do not
make quick maneuvers. Avoid
uneven surfaces and do not
tow on hills unless they are
very small. Never carry pas-
sengers in the trailer. Allow
more stopping distance than
when you are not towing a
trailer.
