Troubleshooting
Whenever the system is not operating as expected, check the following tables to see if you can
resolve the problem yourself before requesting service.
Amplifi er/ Speakers
Symptoms
No sound output
[STANDBY/TIMER]
indicator is fl ashing red
and there is no sound.
No sound from the
headphones
There is no sound from
"D-IN".
No sound from one of
the speakers
The clock display is
fl ashing.
The timer does not
work.
Tuner
Symptoms
No radio reception
Interference (noise)
I have used Auto
Memory and pressed
the [P.CALL] key, but
I still can't get radio
reception.
Solution

Check all connections as described in <Connecting
the System>.
z
Increase the volume.
z
Cancel the MUTE setting.
z
Unplug any headphones plugged into the main unit.
z
One of the speaker cords is short-circuited. Unplug
the power cord and then reconnect the speaker cord.
z
There may be an internal problem. Turn off the
power to the main unit, unplug the power cord and
request repairs.
z
Check that the headphone plug is inserted correctly.
z
Increase the volume.
z
Cancel the MUTE setting.
z
Check all connections as described in <Connecting
the System>.
z
Check whether "PCM" is selected for the digital audio
output setting on the connected component.
z
Check all connections as described in <Connecting
the System>.
z
Check the volume balance for the left and right
speakers.
z
Set the clock as described in <Setting the System
Clock>.
z
Set the clock as described in <Setting the System
Clock>.
z
Set a start time and end time for the program timer.
Solution
z
Connect the antennas.
z
Select the broadcast band (AM or FM).
z
Tune the radio to the frequency of the desired
station.
z
Install an outdoor antenna away from roads.
z
Turn off any electrical appliances that may be
causing interference.
z
Move the system away from the TV.
z
Run Auto Memory again.
z
Manually preset stations with frequencies that you
can receive.
