    AM antenna AM loop antenna (supplied) If the cords are covered with insulation, remove a short section of insulation at the end of each cord by twisting and pulling it off. Connect the AM loop antenna to the AM LOOP terminals as illustrated. Turn the AM loop antenna until you have the best reception.

    Disc Introduction This unit has been designed to playback the following CDs: • CD (Audio CD) • CD-R (CD-Recordable) • CD-RW (CD-Rewritable) • MP3 disc (MP3 files recorded on a CD-R or CD-RW) What is MP3? MP3 is an abbreviation of Motion Picture Experts Group 1 (or MPEG-1) Audio Layer 3.

    Playing Back Discs (CD/CD-R/CD-RW/MP3) When playing a CD-R or CD-RW User-edited CD-Rs (CD-Recordable) and CD-RWs (CD-ReWritable) can be played only if they are already “finalized.” • Usually you can play back your original CD-Rs or CD- RWs recorded in music CD format. However, sometimes they may not play depending on their characteristics or recording conditions.

    Using the Video CD Player (Video CDs) You can play video CDs (with or without the Playback Control (PBC) function) to watch the picture on your TV while listening to the sound through your JVC Micro Component System. Before playing video CDs Make sure that the connection between the System and your TV is correct.

    Playing Back Tapes You can play back type I tapes. Playing Back a Tape Press PUSH OPEN 0 on the unit. Put a cassette in with the exposed part of the tape down. Press PUSH OPEN 0 again to close the cassette holder.

    Recording IMPORTANT: • It may be unlawful to record or play back copyrighted material without the consent of the copyright owner. • The recording level is automatically set correctly, so it is not affected by the other sound settings. Thus, during recording you can adjust the sound you are actually listening to without affecting the recording level.

    Disc Direct Recording Everything on the disc goes onto the tape in the order it is on the disc, or according to the order you have set in Program Play. On the unit ONLY: Put a recordable cassette in with the exposed part of the tape down.

    Using the Microphone and Multiplex CDs By plugging in the microphone, you can use the System for Karaoke or microphone mixing. You can also add an echo to the microphone’s sound. Karaoke and microphone mixing are only available when you select the CD source with a playable disc inside.
