Preparation
Inserting and Removing
a Card
You can use an SD Memory Card (supplied) or
a MultiMediaCard (commercially available) for
storing still images.
Inserting

Make sure that the
POWER switch is set to
OFF.

Press the LCD monitor PUSH OPEN
release and open the LCD monitor.

Slide the card slot cover and open it in
the direction of the arrow.

Insert a card into the slot as shown
below, and push it in as far as it will go.

Close the card slot cover in the direction
of the arrow.

Removing
Perform steps 1 to 3 above, push the card (1)
and pull the card straight out (2) as shown
below.
Notes:
• You cannot use a SmartMediaE card or
Memory StickE media with this camcorder. In
this operation manual, "card" refers to the SD
Memory Card or the MultiMediaCard.
• The supplied SD Memory Card is preformatted
for immediate use.
• See pages 96 and 97 for more information on the
cards intended for use with this camcorder.
Caution:
• Do not remove the card from the camcorder
while recording data on the card (S indicator
flashes during recording). This may delete the
recorded image or damage the card.
