system but the disk itself is not.
None
Disk has meta-data on it that keeps it from being exported to the
operating system but it is not an array member
Status
Indicates the health of the disk
Normal
Disk is present and functioning as expected
Error Occurred
Disk has exceeded its unrecoverable threshold. Disk will continue to be
accessed if it's a member of a RAID 0 volume.
SMART Event
Disk has exceeded its recoverable error threshold and is at risk of failure.
Missing
Disk is not present.
Incompatible Version
Disk has RAID meta-data on it but its version is incompatible with the
current version of RAID software. Updated version might be needed in
order to resolve
System Disk
Indicates if this disk contains protected operating system files
Serial #
Device serial number
Member Volumes
Lists the volumes contained on the disk
Volume Parameters:
Name
Description
Status
Indicates the health of the RAID volume
Normal
Volume data is fully accessible to host
Failed
One or more disks are missing or have failed, and the volume will
complete all I/O requests with a failing status.
Size
Total size of the RAID volume
System Volume
Indicates if this RAID volume contains protected operating system files
RAID Level
RAID technology implemented on the volume
Strip Size
Size of logical contiguous data block on each disk

Appendix
Number of Disks
Number of disks contained in the RAID volume
Member Disks
Lists the disks contained in the RAID volume
Component Overview: Create, View and Delete RAID Volumes
Navigation Note: You can right mouse click on a device for actions:
Right click on 'RAID Volumes' to create a new RAID volume. After a RAID volume
has been created, right click on a volume to modify or delete.
Create a Volume
Two methods are provided to create a RAID volume:
1. Create Manually:
You can select the volume and strip size to be used. Volume name must be
at least 1 alpha character
and no more than 16 characters.
Typical Strip Size Settings:
Name
Description
16KB
Best for sequential transfers
64KB
Good general-purpose strip size
128KB
Best performance for most desktops and workstations
2. Create from Existing Disk:
This option allows you to create a volume on two disks and migrate the data
on one of those disks.
The "Create from Existing Disk" feature allows a RAID 0 volume to be
created using an existing operating system disk drive with personal data and
a second Serial ATA disk drive. The disk with the data you wish to keep is
called the source disk. The data on the source disk is copied to the new
RAID volume that spans these two disks. This process may take
approximately one hour but may take longer depending on disk capacity and
system workload.
View a Volume
Volumes and other elements of the RAID configuration can be viewed. Select the
element and the list on the right window will be updated.
Delete a Volume
Right click on a volume and select "Delete". If you delete a volume, all the data on
that volume will be lost and the data cannot be recovered. Backup all important data
