Acknowledgment of communication.
A group of characteristics, such as transmit/
receive frequency pairs, radio parameters, and
encryption encoding.
Tone Private-Line™ or Digital Private-Line.
Used on conventional channels to make sure
you hear only the communication meant for
you.
In a trunking system, one of the channels that
is used to provide a continuous, two-way/data
communications path between the central
controller and all radios on the system.
Typically refers to radio-to-radio
communications, sometimes through a
repeater. You share a frequency, or
frequencies, with other users without the aid of
a central controller to assign communication

channel before transmitting to avoid interfering
with another user who may be transmitting.
A visual tracking marker (a blinking line) that
indicates a location on the display.
A continuous, sub-audible data signal,
transmitted with the carrier.
An individual who has radio system
management duties.
A back-up system allowing you to
communicate in a non-trunked, conventional
mode should the trunked system fail.
