To replace drive C

C A U T I O N
If you're replacing drive C, back up your files before replacing the drive.
Turn off the unit, unplug the ac adapter, and remove the battery before removing
the drive. Otherwise, the OmniBook or the drive may be damaged.

10. Press the reset button.
11. Install Windows on drive C, then restore your files from a backup—see
Replacing Drive C
1. Backup all the files on your current drive C.
2. Important: Turn off the unit, unplug the adapter, and remove the battery.
3. Close the cover and turn your computer over.
4. Remove the screw located in the locking latch area at the front end of the hard disk
drive.
This screw acts as a security measure—if you remove the hard disk drive frequently,
you don't need to use the locking screw. You should insert the screw if you don't
need to remove the hard disk often, or if you are shipping the computer by carrier.
5. Pull the locking latch upward.
6. At the other end of the drive, push firmly on the back edge of the drive and slide the
drive all the way forward in the drive compartment. (This requires some force.)
7. Lift the hard disk drive from the OmniBook.
8. Place the new drive C in the drive compartment and slide it firmly back into place.
Optional: Replace the security screw.
9. Insert the battery. Connect the ac adapter
reinstall files on drive C"
To back up the files on your old hard disk, click Start, Programs, Accessories,
System Tools, Backup, then use the Backup tab.
To restore your files after you install the new hard disk and install Windows, use
the Restore tab.
