Press FN+F2 to start the System Configuration utility. You can use the Input/Output
menu COM Ports command to change the COM names for the serial port and the
physical infrared port (normally COM1 and COM2). PCMCIA serial-type cards use the
remaining COM names. Exit the utility without rebooting—then click Start and Shut Down
to restart the OmniBook. You must restart to make the new assignments active.
1. In Program Manager, double-click the OmniBook Tools icon (in the Main group).
2. Click Connections, then click COM Ports.
The dialog box shows the names currently assigned to the ports.
3. To change the assignment of port names, select a different combination.
4. Choose OK.
5. If you changed the port assignments, you must reboot the OmniBook to make the
new assignments active.
You can also change COM Port Assignments in the System Configuration utility. Press
FN+F2

To specify serial port settings

Many applications provide a way for you to adjust the settings for serial ports they use.
Other applications don't let you change serial port settings. However, you can use
Viewing Serial
Control Panel to set the basic serial port settings—the ones used by an application that
