Step 3: Establishing a Remote Desktop connection

In order to connect your client computer to your PRIMERGY
TX100 S3 Core Edition server, please proceed as follows:
6.3.3.1

Connecting to your server

You can connect to your server by specifying either its name or IP address.
I
The IP (Internet Protocol) address is a 32-bit number that uniquely
identifies a computer or other device on a TCP/IP network. TCP/IP is the
protocol that your computer uses to communicate with other computers
on your network.
Ê Determine your network configuration.
Please read the following sections thoroughly to help you decide, how to
establish the remote connection:
– Connect by computer name
If DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) is enabled on your
network, the PRIMERGY TX100 S3 Core Edition server is automatically
configured to obtain an IP address from the DHCP server. DHCP doesn't
require you to manually configure TCP/IP settings, even if you move your
computer to another location.
DHCP is a standard protocol that allows a server to dynamically
distribute IP addressing and configuration information to clients (e.g. IP
address, subnet mask, default gateway, DNS / WINS server addresses).
The computer name is resolved to the IP address using Domain Name
Service (DNS).
