9-50 Upgrading Your Server
Memory Spare Feature
The memory spare feature puts a memory channel 2 into standby status as spare memory. If an
uncorrectable error occurs in a DIMM under the running memory controller, the feature
automatically changes the running DIMM from the failed one to a DIMM in the standby state to
continue the processing.
IMPORTANT:
The memory spare feature is not supported in N8100-1668F/1669F
servers.
To use the memory spare feature, the additional memory boards
(N8102-379/380/381/382/383) are required.
To use the memory spare feature, the additional memory boards
must have the same capacity.
