The system will accept only 2-wire loop start lines/trunks.
The system trunks can connect to PBX/Centrex lines, rather
than to telco trunk circuits. If installed behind a
PBX/Centrex, the trunk inputs into the system are 500/2500
compatible PBX extensions. PBX/Centrex Compatibility
lets the system be a node in a larger private telephone net-
work. To make the system compatible with a PBX/Centrex,
the system administrator:
Enters the PBX/Centrex trunk access codes into the system
Designates trunks as PBX/Centrex lines
When behind a PBX, the system begins Toll Restriction
after the user dials the trunk access code. The PBX/Centrex
may further restrict the call.
The system can be programmed to accommodate
PBX/Centrex lines, which when set in night mode, are
switched to real CO lines. If you have a PBX/Centrex Trunk
Access Code programmed in a Speed Dial number, when the
system is in night mode the PBX/Centrex codes will be omit-
ted. For example, if an abbreviated dialing number is 9-pause-
926-5400, the system will only dial 926-5400 when in night
mode.
