Installing adapters

This section provides information and instructions for installing and removing
adapters.
Adapter slots
Your computer has three expansion slots for peripheral component interconnect (PCI)
adapters and one slot for an accelerated graphics port (AGP) adapter. You can install
an adapter up to 330 mm (13 inches) long.
Installing adapters
To install an adapter:
1. Remove the cover. See "Removing the cover" on page 15.
2. You can also remove the power supply for easier access. See "Removing the
power supply" on page 15.
3. Remove the screw that secures the adapter slot, and remove the slot cover for the
appropriate expansion slot.
4. Remove the adapter from its static-protective package.
5. Install the adapter into the appropriate slot on the system board.
6. Secure the adapter with the screw.
