b. Carefully remove the cache DIMM.
12. Install the RAID cache DIMM in the new RAID controller:
a. Open the retaining clip on each end of the RAID cache DIMM connector.
b. Angle the DIMM so that the DIMM keys align correctly with the slot.

c. Insert the DIMM into the connector by aligning the edges of the DIMM with
the slots at the ends of the DIMM connector. Firmly press the DIMM into
the connector by applying pressure on both ends of the DIMM
simultaneously. The retaining clips snap into the locked position when the
DIMM is firmly seated in the connector. If there is a gap between the DIMM
and the retaining clips, the DIMM has not been correctly inserted; open the
retaining clips, remove the DIMM, and then reinsert it.
13. Install the replacement RAID controller in the storage subsystem:
a. Make sure that the lever on each side of the controller is down as far as it
will go.
b. Push the controller into the bay until it meets resistance (about 6 mm [0.25
in.] from the end of the chassis).
c. While squeezing together the latch and lever, push both latches up as far
as they will go. The controller will slide the rest of the way into the bay.
14. Reconnect the Ethernet cables that you removed in step 5 on page 53.
15. For a Fibre Channel RAID controller only: Insert the SFP modules and
fiber-optic cables that you removed in step 6 on page 53.
16. Turn on the power-supply-with-fan unit switches on the rear of the storage
subsystem.
17. Wait approximately 10 minutes and then check the status LEDs on the RAID
controller. Make sure that:
v The Ethernet link green LEDs are lit.
v The Fibre Channel port green LEDs are lit.
v The Controller ready green LED is lit.
