Components of the DS300 and DS400 external storage subsystems

The following sections show the components of the storage subsystem.
The hot-swap features of the storage subsystem enable you to remove and replace
hard disk drives and power-supply-with-fan units without turning off the storage
subsystem. Therefore, you can maintain the availability of the system while a
hot-swap device is removed, installed, or replaced.

Front view

The following illustrations show the components and controls on the front of the
DS300 (1701-1RS) and DS400 storage subsystems.
