The DS300 storage subsystem models come with one iSCSI RAID
controller. There is a filler panel in the right RAID controller bay (side B),
which must remain in place to maintain proper cooling.
The DS300 storage subsystem model 1701-1RL contains one iSCSI RAID
controller with one 1 Gb/sec (gigabit per second) Ethernet input connector
for data and management and eight LEDs.
Note: Make sure that you always install a controller below a
power-supply-with-fan unit.
The DS300 storage subsystem model 1701-1RS contains one iSCSI RAID
controller with one 1 Gb/sec Ethernet input connector for management, two
1 Gb/sec Ethernet input connectors for data, and 12 LEDs.
All RAID controller models except the 1701-1RL also contain a cache
battery to maintain cache data in the event of a power failure. For more
information, see "Cache memory and RAID controller battery" on page 36.
