Setting up the handset
Activating/deactivating the ringtone
for anonymous calls
You can set your handset not to ring for calls
where Calling Line Identification has been
restricted (not answering machine). The call
will only be signalled on the display.

Activating/deactivating the ringtone
You can deactivate the ringtone on your hand-
set before you answer a call or when the hand-
set is in idle status; the ringtone can be deacti-
vated permanently or just for the current call.
The ringtone cannot be re-activated while an
external call is in progress.

Activating/deactivating the alert tone
Instead of a ringtone, you can activate an alert
tone. When you receive a call, you will hear a
short tone ("Beep") instead of the ringtone.

Using the Resource Directory

The Resource Directory on the handset man-
ages sounds, which you can use as ringtones,
and pictures (Caller Pictures and Screensavers).
Prerequisite: Calling Line Identification (CLIP).

The Resource Directory can manage the fol-
lowing media types:
Type
Sound
Ringtones
Monophonic
Polyphonic
Imported sounds
Picture
– Caller Picture
– Screensaver
Various mono and polyphonic sounds and pic-
tures are preconfigured on your handset.
You can listen to the available sounds and view
the pictures.
You can download pictures and sounds from a
PC (¢ page 45). If there is not enough memory
available, you must first delete one or more pic-
tures or sounds.

Pictures:

Press the display key. The selected
picture is displayed. Switch
between pictures using the
key.
If you have saved a picture in an invalid file for-
mat, you will see an error message after select-
ing the entry.
Sounds:
The selected sound is played back immedi-
ately. Switch between the sounds using the
key.
You can set the volume during playback.
