Using External Viewfinder (optional)

When using the external viewfinder (DMW-VF1; optional), the screen for taking the
wide-angle pictures can be displayed on the viewfinder.
Preparations:
Turn off the camera and close the built-in flash.
Remove the hot shoe cover that is attached to the camera.
Insert the external viewfinder (DMW-VF1;
optional) all the way into the hot shoe A.
Press the lower part of the external viewfinder with
your finger, and securely insert the connector as
well.
(Do not press on the lens part)
When attaching the optional external viewfinder, be
sure to do so slowly and carefully.
When removing the external viewfinder, pull it off
slowly.
Select [OPT. VIEWFINDER] on [REC] Mode menu.
For more about [OPT. VIEWFINDER], refer to
Press 3/4 to select [ON] and then press [MENU/SET].
You can switch the LCD monitor to a blank screen by repeatedly pressing [DISPLAY].

Note
The frame lines show the usable area for a 24 mm lens (35 mm film camera equivalent, aspect
ratio 3:2, Wide).
Frame lines is only an approximation. Check the LCD monitor for precise view.
When the lens surface is dirty, wipe with a soft dry cloth.
Turn off the camera when removing the external viewfinder.
The External Viewfinder cannot be used with the External Flash (DMW-FL220, DMW-FL360,
DMW-FL500; optional).
