Base station settings

The base settings are carried out using a reg-
istered Gigaset handset.
Changing ringtones
u Volume:
You can choose between five volumes
and the "crescendo" ring (¢ page 43).
Select "0" to deactivate the base ringer.
u Ringtones:
You can set a ringer melody for external
calls (¢ page 43).
u Time control:
You can specify when the base should
not ring (e.g., during the night).

music on hold

Activating repeater support

With a repeater, you can increase the range
and signal strength of your base. You will
need to activate repeater mode. This will ter-
minate any calls that are in progress at the
time.
Prerequisite: A repeater is registered.

to activate/deactivate repeater

After activating or deactivating the
repeater, switch your handset off and
on again (¢ page 20).
Please note
u Eco Mode / Eco Mode+ (¢ page 38)
and repeater support cancel each
other out, i.e., you cannot use Eco
Mode and Eco Mode+ when using a
repeater.
u The default encrypted transmission
setting is deactivated when a
repeater is activated.
Protecting against
unauthorised access
Protect the system settings of the base
station with a PIN known only to yourself.
The system PIN must be entered when,
for example, registering/de-registering a
handset to/from the base or when restoring
the default settings.
Changing the system PIN
You can change the 4-digit system PIN set on
the base (default setting: 0000) to a 4-digit
PIN known only by you.
