Adjusting the bass and treble

To help you get the sound you want you can
increase or reduce the bass and treble.
• Default setting:
BASS+1 / TREBLE 0 (EV61DVD)
BASS+2 / TREBLE+1 (EV31DVD)
1 Press SOUND MODE repeatedly to
select BASS or TREBLE.
You can also use the
buttons on the remote to select a menu item
after you've pressed SOUND MODE.
2 Use (cursor up/down) to adjust
the sound.
You can also use
the front panel.
The bass and treble can be adjusted from –4
to +4.
3 Press ENTER.

Boosting the bass level

• Default setting: BOOST 0 (EV61DVD)
BOOST 1 (EV31DVD)
If you want to bring up the low end for certain
kinds of music or sound sources, you can use
the bass boost to do so.
1 Press SOUND MODE repeatedly to
select the BOOST display.
You can also use the
buttons on the remote to select a menu item
after you've pressed SOUND MODE.
2 Use (cursor up/down) to select
either BOOST 1 or BOOST 2.
You can also use
the front panel.
• EV61DVD only: Select BOOST 0 to switch
off the bass boost.

and on
(cursor left/right)
and on
3 Press ENTER.

Muting the sound

Use the mute button if you need to
momentarily turn off any sound coming out of
the speakers.
• Press MUTE to switch off the volume.
To switch the sound back on, adjust the
volume or press MUTE again.

Adjusting the balance

EV31DVD model only
To help you get the sound you want you can
change the left/right balance.
1 Press SOUND MODE repeatedly to
select the balance display (CENTER, LEFT
or RIGHT will be shown).
You can also use the
buttons on the remote to select the balance
display after you've pressed SOUND MODE.
2 Use (cursor up/down) to adjust
the balance.
You can also use
the front panel.
The balance can be adjusted from LEFT 10 to
RIGHT 10.
3 Press ENTER.

Creating wider stereo sound

EV31DVD model only
The Stereo Wide feature makes the stereo
spread appear wider than it really is—useful
when the speakers are close together.
