    1.1 Quidway R2600/3600 Series Modular Routers Quidway R2600/3600 series modular routers (referred to as R2600/3600 series hereafter) are independently developed by Huawei for enterprise networks. They can be used as core routers in medium- and small-sized Intranets, or as access servers at some major branch offices.

You can select different types of power modules according to the specific environment where the router is used.

Step 2: After confirming the power switch of the router is turned off, connect one end of the power line accompanying the router to the power input socket on the router’s rear panel, and connect the other end to the AC socket that delivered with the router.

One end of it has a RJ-45 connector adopting RS-232 standard, which is to be connected to AUX. The DB-25-pin and DB- 9-pin connector of the other end are plugged with the DB-25-pin or DB-9-pin socket in Modem according to the actual requirements.

So first contact the local agent of Huawei for permission before opening the cover of the router, or perform operations according to the relevant regulation of the local agent.

Step 5: Repeat Step 2 to 4 until all the SIMMs are removed. Caution: 1) You can only hold the non-conductive edge of the SIMM, which is prone to static damage due to improper operation.

Step 2: Hold the interface unit, and align its corner with the edge of the opening in the rear panel at the bottom of the router, as shown in Figure 8-7. Step 3: Push the interface unit to the inside of the router until it presses against the rear panel of the router, as shown in Figure 8-7.

    After installing the function module, power on the router to check the status of READY indicator. It is on when the module completes self-check and works normally. It is off when the module fails to pass self-check, please contact the local agent of Huawei. If the function module of R2600/3600 series works abnormally, please: Check that the cable selected for the interface is correct.
