DRD Reception (Inch Model Only)

This reception mode uses the Distinctive Ring Pattern service available from some
telephone companies. With this service, you can use two or more telephone
numbers on a single telephone line. Each number is given a different ring pattern so
that the facsimile can differentiate between incoming calls. Assign one of the
numbers to the facsimile and set up the desired ring pattern in advance for automatic
fax reception whenever the facsimile detects that ring pattern.
NOTE:
DRD reception requires a subscription to your telephone company's
Distinctive Ring Pattern service. Contact your telephone company for more
information. You must connect a regular phone to the facsimile for DRD Reception.
Select DRD in Reception Mode Settings. Refer to Reception Mode Settings on
page 5-1. To select a ringer pattern, refer to DRD Pattern on page 5-7.

Other party dials the number designated for
calling.
The facsimile issues the distinctive ringing
pattern for calling to alert users of the call. An
external phone connected to the facsimile can
be used to speak to the caller.
