Forward Facing
LATCH Installation
•
Figure A illustrates a typical forward facing
LATCH installation.

Verify that your vehicle is equipped with
LATCH anchors.
•
If LATCH anchors are not installed, you
must use standard vehicle belt installation
methods.

If stored, remove LATCH connectors
from storage slots under cover (Fig. B).
•
Replace
cover
before
installation.

Place LATCH harness in the forward
facing belt route.
•
Refer to page 21 for instructions on
switching the LATCH harness.

Place the restraint sideways on the
vehicle seat, with the back facing
toward you.
•
Installation can be improved by the use of
®
the Versa-Tether
(see pages 23–25).

Verify that LATCH harness is not
twisted, then loosely attach the farthest
connector to LATCH anchor (Fig. C).

A positive click confirms attachment.
Rotate seat into forward facing

Verify that LATCH harness is not
twisted, then loosely attach the closest
connector to LATCH anchor (Fig. D).
•
A positive click confirms attachment.

Kneel on the child restraint to force it
into the vehicle seat while pulling each
LATCH harness tight (Fig. E).
Verify that all connections are secure

and the restraint is stable.
Removal
Release each LATCH harness from the
LATCH anchor by pressing the release
button on the LATCH connector.
Disconnect Versa-Tether
, if attached.

When installing with vehicle belt, store
LATCH connectors in storage slots under
cover.
