HYPERTHERMIA
Prolonged immersion in hot water may induce hyperthermia. A description of
the causes, symptoms, and effects of hyperthermia are as follows:
Hyperthermia occurs when the internal temperature of the body reaches a
level several degrees above the normal body temperature of 98.6°F (37°C).
The symptoms of hyperthermia include drowsiness, lethargy, and an increase
in the internal temperature of the body. The effects of hyperthermia include:
a) Unawareness of impending hazard;
b) Failure to perceive heat;
c) Failure to recognize the need to exit hot tub;
d) Physical inability to exit hot tub;
e) Fetal damage in pregnant women; and
f)
Unconsciousness and danger of drowning.
A warning sign is provided in your warranty packet. Please install it
at a location near your spa, where it is visible to the user of the hot
tub. For additional or replacement signs please contact your local
Sundance Spas dealer and reference item number #6530-082.
