A. Mantel and Wall Projections
WARNING! Risk of Fire! Comply with all minimum clear-
ances to combustibles as specifi ed. Framing or fi nishing
material closer than the minimums listed must be construct-
ed entirely of noncombustible materials (i.e., steel studs,
concrete board, etc).
Clearance to combustible material under the insert is 3/8
inch (10 mm). Clearance from sides of fi replace opening
to combustibles is 10 inches (254 mm). Clearance from
top of fi replace opening for combustibles extending 1 inch
to 8 inches max. is 14 inches.
• Use leveling legs to raise insert minimum 3/8inch (10
mm) above combustible material or outer wrap of factory
built fi rebox.
Combustible facings must not extend behind the insert
surround.

Underneath bottom of appliance to combustibles: 3/8 in. (10 mm)
16 in. (406 mm) front floor protection required 0 in. to 1-1/2 in. (38 mm) below bottom of appliance. (1/2 in. of "k" = .84)
No floor protection needed if 1-1/2 in. (38 mm) or greater from bottom of appliance.
