4.2 Customizing Profi les and
Sounds
Select Profi les from the Start menu to access the screen
shown on the left below. Select Activate in this screen if you
want to switch to a different profi le, or modify the attributes of
an existing profi le. Select Sounds if you want to customize
the sounds for ring tones, notifi cations, and reminders.
Activate
Selecting Activate opens the screen shown on the right
above. All available profi les are listed, and the active profi le
is indicated by a check mark to the right. Profi les are used
to confi gure how your Dopod585 notifi es you of events such
as an incoming call, an ap proaching appointment, or an
arriving message. For ex ample, when you are attending a
meeting, you can choose the Meeting profi le, which turns
off your system sound volume, lowers the ring volume of
your Dopod585, notifi es you of incoming calls via vibration,
etc. Each profi le is pre-defi ned to use either an audible
ring notifi cation, or a vibration notifi cation, with different
alarm types, volumes, etc., as listed in the table on the
next page.
