Turning your ATV

Learning to turn your ATV requires you to
learn to shift your weight and control the
throttle to allow the rear wheels to turn
properly. When making a turn, the wheels on
the outside of the turn must travel a wider
radius and thus a greater distance than the
inside wheels of the turn. Since the rear axle
does not permit a different rate of rotation, it is
not enough to merely steer your ATV into the
turn.
To turn properly, steer in the direction of the
turn and lean your body to the inside of the
turn while supporting your weight on the outer
footrest. Use the throttle to maintain power
throughout the turn.
If you do not use this turning technique the
unit will have a tendency to continue in a
straight line. If this occurs, release the throttle
lever to allow the unit to stop.
Avoid braking or accelerating until you have
regained directional control.
