O V E N B U R N E R
N O TE : Before the oven burner w ill operate, the oven pilot m ust be lit.
1.
Lighting O ven Pilot
a.
B e sure A LL valves are in the "O FF" position. Th e oven control knob
should be in the "O FF" position.
b.
B e sure m ain gas supply is on.
c.
O pen oven door; sm ell for gas - If you sm ell gas S TO P ! R ead and follow
the instructions on front of your m anual.
d.
If you do not sm ell gas, turn knob to the pilot position, "P ush In/Lite P ilot".
e.
Im m ediately light pilot w ith a m atch. H old knob in at least 5 to 7 seconds
for this allow s gas to flow to p ilo t a n d to heat therm ocouple. R elease
knob, pilot should stay on. N ote: If the appliance has not been operated
for a lon g period of tim e, a longer w aiting period for ignition of the pilot
m ay be due to air in the pilot and gas lines. If pilot goes out, repeat steps
a, b, c, d.
1. M ak e sure all controls are "O FF" and the range cooktop and oven are cool
before cleaning.
2. M ake sure that all cooktop surfaces, burner grates and burners are cool before
cleaning or disassem bling cooktop.
3. D o not use oven cleaners, bleach or rust rem overs on the cooktop or burner
grates.
4. C lean all surfaces as soon as possible after boil overs or spillovers.
5. U se w arm soapy w ater o nly to clean the burner grates, cooktops, painted
surfaces, porcelain surfac es, stainless steel surfaces and plastic item s on your
range. D o not use grit or acid-type cleaners. D o not use cleaners w ith am m onia.
C leaners of these types are corrosive and could dam age com ponent parts in the
range.
6. D o not use steel w ool or abrasive cleaners. They w ill dam age the cooktop and
oven finish. U se only non-abrasive plastic scrubbing pads.
7. D o not allow foods containing acids (such as lem on or tom ato juice, or vinegar)
to rem ain on porcelain or painted surfaces. Acids m ay rem ove the glossy finish.
8. D o not w ash w arm porcelain surfaces. Allow these areas to c ool before
cleaning. Y ou could burn yourself or the porcelain could crack.
9.
P itting and discoloration w ill result if spills are allow ed to rem ain for any length
of tim e on stainless steel.
10. D o not allow spillovers to rem ain on the burner c ap s. The caps could be
perm anently stained if spillovers are not cleaned up prom ptly.
11. If any of th e burner ports or the orifice are clogged, carefully clean w ith a sm all
w ire or needle. B e sure not to enlarge ports. N ever use a wire brush for cleaning
burner ports or orifice. N ever use any brush w hich m ay "shed" bristles, w hich m ay
becom e lodged in the orifice or burner ports and cause a fire or explosion.
TO R E M O V E TH E W IR E G R A TE A N D M A IN TO P F O R S E R VIC E A N D
C LE A N IN G
1.
R em ove the w ire grate by raising straight up. U se caution not to dislodge the
grom m ets in the top (one at each corner).
2.
G rasp top in the center and raise front up approxim ately 3". If your unit has
sealed burners, disconnect the piezo w ire at each burner.
3. Slide top forw ard off the tw o spring clips at rear of top. Lift up top.
TO R E IN S TA LL
1.
R econnect piezo w ires to each burner if they w ere rem oved.
2.
A lign slots in rear flange of top w ith the tabs on the spring clips. P ush top in
and press front of top down until the spring clip snaps into place.
3.
R einstall w ire grate by aligning the four (4) legs on the w ire grate w ith the four
(4) grom m ets in the top. Press w ire grate down into each grom m et, being careful
not to dislodge the grom m ets.
2.
O peration of O ven Burner
a.
Turn the o ve n co ntrol knob counter-clockw ise
setting. O ven burner w ill com e on im m ediately and the oven burner w ill
stay on until it reaches the desired setting. Then the oven burner flam e
w ill decrease in size. This is norm al for this type of therm ostat and this
flam e size w ill m aintain a constant tem perature w ithing the oven.
N O TE : O ven therm ostat w as calibrated at the factory and is not field
adjustable.
b.
For broiling, a 2-piece porcelain broiler pan can be purchased from
S uburban:
1.
C enter the broiler pan underneath the oven burner flam e.
2.
Turn the food over frequently to ensure even brow ning.
3. To Shut D ow n O ven Burner
Turn oven control knob clockw ise
position, the oven pilot w ill rem ain lit.
4. To Shut D ow n O ven Pilot
S lightly depress knob and turn to "O FF". At this position, the oven pilot w ill go
out.
C A U TIO N : W hen the recreational vehicle is not in use or w hile traveling,
it is recom m ended that the gas supply also be turned off.

MAINTENANCE

D o not place excessive w eight on an open oven door or stand on an open oven
door as, in som e cases, it could cause the range to tip over, break or dam age the
door to the extent that the range w ould be unsafe to use, or cause serious injury
to the user.
W hen opening the oven door, allow steam and hot air to escape before reaching
in oven to check, add or rem ove food.
Y our R V range features one oven rack w ith a choice of tw o or three rack positions.
The oven rack is designed w ith a safety lock-stop position to keep the rack from
accidently com ing com pletely out of the oven w hen pulling the rack out to add or
rem ove food. The rack also features tw o tabs to keep the rack from rattling during
travel. See Figure 6.
C A U TIO N : D o not attem pt to change the rack positio n w h e n the oven is
hot.
To R em ove: B e sure the rack is cool. P ull the rack straight out until it stops. This
releases the tw o tabs on the sides of the rack. Lift the front end of the rack up,
then pull and rem ove from the oven.
To Replace: Place the oven rack in the oven on top of the rack supports. S lide the
rack to the stop position and lift upw ard then, as you push the rack back past the
tw o tabs, it w ill anchor the rack into place and prevent it from rattling during transit.
W hen baking, use an adequate size cooking utensil to av oid boil overs or
spillovers.
N ever place cooking utensils or alum inum foil directly on the o ve n bottom . This
w ill restrict the openings in the oven bottom , reducing the air circulation inside the
oven which w ill cause uneven baking, food m ay burn or be undercooked.
To Rem ove: W hen cool, rem ove the oven rack. R em ove the one(1) screw and nut
that secures the oven burner assem bly to the oven bottom (A Figure 7). R em ove
the four (4) screw s that secure oven bottom to the oven sides and back (B Figure
7). H old oven bottom and slide it out of the oven.
To R eplace: P osition oven bottom rear flange to a lign w ith the tw o h oles in back
of the oven. Secure w ith (2) screw s. S ecure oven bottom to oven sides w ith the
tw o (2) screw s (see B Figure 7).
