Set up a recovery server blade station using an identical server blade model. Do not install any internal

drives or FBWC in this server blade. (HP recommends this option.)
Power down the failed server blade
2.
Transfer the hard drives from the failed server blade to the recovery server blade station.
3.
Remove the NAND flash module (on page 38) and capacitor pack
4.
page 39) from the failed server blade, and install the NAND flash module and capacitor pack in the
recovery server blade.
Power up the recovery server blade.
5.
If data was saved on the NAND flash module, then a 1792 POST message appears, stating that valid
data was flushed from the cache. This data is now stored on the drives in the recovery server blade.

Front panel/drive cage assembly

To remove the component:
Power down the server blade (on page 23).

Remove the server blade (on page 24).
2.
Remove the access panel
3.
Remove all hard drives ("Drive" on page 26).
4.
Remove all hard drive blanks
5.
Remove the SAS controller
6.
CAUTION:

Extend the serial label pull tab from the front of the server blade.
7.
Remove the two T-15 screws from the front panel/drive cage assembly.
8.
Remove the front panel/drive cage assembly.
9.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
