IMPORTANT:
If you have a switch with the new OUI/WWN in the fabric, do not downgrade DCFM to a version
earlier than 10.3.4.
DCFM versions earlier than 10.3.4 will show such switches as unmanaged.
Default changed for Encrypt Existing Data feature
When using DCFM 10.3.0 or later to configure LUNs, the default setting for the Encrypt Existing
Data option has been changed to Disable from Enable. This aligns the LUN options in DCFM
with the default LUN options in the CLI.
NOTE:
The Encryption Administrator's Guide does not reflect this change at the time of DCFM 10.3.4 release.
DCFM cannot manage M-EOSc switches with SNMPv3 enabled
DCFM 10.1.3 or later does not support managing M-EOSc switches with SNMPv3 enabled. If SNMPv3
is enabled on M-EOSc switches, SNMPv1 is disabled automatically. DCFM uses SNMPv1 to manage
M-EOSc switches; therefore, the manageability link cannot be established if SNMPv3 is enabled. HP
recommends that you use the CLI to disable SNMPv3.
JRE V1.6.0 Update 13 is required
Using a JRE version earlier than V1.6.0 Update 13 can cause the following problems:
The remote client fails to launch with a Java webstart exception.
The remote client cannot be upgraded or downgraded.
The DCFM server/client and B-series Element Manager crash on launch.
If your system has a JRE version earlier than JRE V1.6.0_13, when launching the remote client, the
browser displays a link to download the JRE installer. If your system has JRE V1.6.0, you must run
1.6.0 Update 13. You can validate this by executing java –version from the command prompt.
If the version displayed is 1.6.0_13, you are running the correct version. If your JRE version is earlier
than 1.6.0_13, remove JRE and then browse to the DCFM Server IP address to download the correct
version, which is bundled with the DCFM server.
NOTE:
If you installed JRE V1.6.0 Update 13, do not use the Java auto-updater, as this will change the JRE
version.
DCFM Professional services do not auto-start on Linux and Solaris
After a restart, DCFM Professional services must be started manually on both Linux and Solaris systems.
Otherwise, the DCFM client will fail to launch.
