* In multitasking environments, choosing the Minimize CPU setting saves CPU resources
for other tasks. If no other applications are making major demands on CPU resources,
choose the Maximize Network Performance setting.
† At 100 Mbps, setting the full-duplex option to Enabled improves the performance of
switch or hub connections. The 3C395 NIC supports full-duplex mode at 10 or
100 Mbps. If a switch supports the NWay auto-negotiation feature and full-duplex
operation, the NIC automatically runs in full-duplex mode.
CAUTION: Before setting the NIC for full-duplex mode,
make sure that the port to which the NIC is connected is
also set to full-duplex mode.
C
ONFIGURATION
summarizes the configuration settings.
Description
Allows trade-offs
between network
performance and
CPU utilization.
Controls whether the
NIC runs in full-duplex
or half-duplex mode.
Allows booting from a
remote device.
Specifies the media
type.
Specifies the port
address.
Specifies the interrupt
level (IRQ).
