Vertical or horizontal printed lines do not align.
White banding appears between color and black graphics.
Cause
The print heads are
misaligned.
The printing position is
misaligned.
For DOS users:
The print direction setting is
set to Bi-D in the
default-setting mode.
Printing quality is not what you expect.
Cause
The paper loaded is not the
paper selected in your
application or the printer
driver.
You are not printing on the
correct side of the paper.

Troubleshooting
What to do
Aligh the print heads with the Print
Head Alignment utility. See "Aligning
the Print Heads" later in this chapter.
Make sure the High Speed option in
your printer driver is not selected.
Set the print direction to Uni-D in the
default-setting mode. To enter the
default-setting mode, see "Changing
the Print Settings" in Appendix A.
What to do
Make sure you loaded the correct
paper in the printer and that you
selected the same media type in your
application and/or the printer
software.
Make sure you are using paper that
meets the paper requirements for this
printer. See "Paper" in Appendix C.
Check the paper packaging for the
correct side for printing; then load the
printable side of the paper face up in
the sheet feeder.
