INTRODUCTION
Now that yourGeniegaragedoor openeris installed,you will want to
programthe openersothat the door opensand closesproperlyand
all remote devicesoperatecorrectly.Thefollowing stepsguideyou
throughsettingyour openerso it functions properlyfor you.
Thefollowing informationwill take you through programming your
opener'sfunctionalsettings for use.
Thereare only2 "required"programmingprocesses youwill needto
follow to set up your garagedoor openerfor operation:
1. "TRAVEL LIMITS"
2. "REMOTE PROGRAMMING"
TermDefinitions:
TravelLimits programmingallows youto set howfar your door
travels up or down in openingand closingyour garagedoor.
RemoteProgramming synchronizes your remote control devices
(remotes,wall console,and keypad)with the powerhead.
ForceControlrefersto how much power is neededto move (open/
close)your particulardoor and doesNOTrequire programming.
Speed Controlrefers to howfast or slow your openeropensand
closesyour particular door and is preset at the factory.This
functiondoesNOTrequireprogramming.
Thereare 4 programs(The2 "FactorySet" programsare unlikelyto
need changes.)
1. DoorTravelLimits Program
- This programis usedto set howfar your door travelsup
and down.
2. RemotePrograms(Defaultmenu)
- Theseshowyou howto programyour remotesto synchwith
additionalremotecontrol devices,wall consoles, k eypads,and
the powerhead.
3. DoorForceProgram(FactorySet)
- This programis only usedfor minoradjustmentsundercertain
circumstances.
4. DoorSpeedProgram(FactorySet)
- This programdoesnot requiremanuallyinitiated changes.
NOTE:The3 programmingbuttonsare forprogrammingONLY, These
buttonsshouldNOTbe usedto operatethe openeroncethe Required
Programmingsectionhasbeen successfullycompleted.
OVERVIEWOF POWERHEADCONTROLS
This sectiondescribesthe programming functions on the powerhead
of the opener.Usethe following informationto familiarizeyourselfwith
the buttons,LEDindicatorsand productsusedto programfunctions.
Powerhead:Thereare 3 programmingbuttonsand 2 LEDlights on
the powerhead.Eachof the buttonsis usedto enterand complete
the setup programming.TheLEDlights indicate status or a function
changeby illuminatingON,OFF, o r ONFLASHING in oneof three
different colors:blue,red or purple.
