    TV or A/V receiver. When using any of the digital audio outputs (HDMI, IEEE-1394 (DCX330 and DCX3300-M only), optical or coaxial digital audio) adjust the audio levels on your external device such as your TV or A/V receiver.

    Operation Video Format Indicators (Front Panel Display) The front panel display of the DCX3300 set-top is equipped with indicators to the right hand side of the display that are used to indicate the currently-selected video output format on the component video (YPbPr) and HDMI outputs.

    External Digital Video Recorder (DVR) The DCX3300 is equipped with an eSATA interface on the rear panel. This interface allows the connection of an external hard disk drive for Digital Video Recorder (DVR) functionality. DVR functionality provides the ability to record both Standard-Definition TV (SDTV) and High-Definition TV (HDTV) programs.

    DVR functionality. Using the External DVR Feature To use the external DVR feature of the DCX3300, first ensure that your service provider has authorized your DCX3300 for external DVR functionality. If authorized, follow these steps to begin using the external DVR feature: 1.

Use the remote control to confirm the reboot. The reboot process will require approximately 30-40 seconds. 6. After the reboot is complete the DCX3300 will confirm that an external drive is connected and available for use.

When this option is set to Enabled, the DCX3300 will render (draw) closed captions on all video outputs if closed captions are included within the program.

    The Subtitle and DVS Settings menu is used to customize the language and appearance of subtitles and to turn the descriptive video service feature on and off on the DCX3300. Subtitles allow a viewer to watch television programs and movies which contain dialogue that is not in the viewer’s native language.

    Advanced Audio/Video Settings Screen The Advanced Audio/Video Settings menu is used to customize several advanced audio and video features of the DCX3300, most notably the Dolby Volume feature and the Video Sharpness feature. The Dolby Volume feature provides intelligent volume leveling across channels, programs, and commercials.
