A variety of HDTV resolutions are available. The following are the most common
resolutions opposite the required transfer rate:
720p, mpeg2: 09-10 Mbps
720p, mpeg4: 06-08 Mbps
1080i, mpeg2: 12-15 Mbps
1080i, mpeg4: 08-10 Mbps
Does HomePlugAV have a security mechanism?
Yes. HomePlugAV uses 128-bit AES encryption.
Are Gigabit Ethernet adapters required for use with HomePlugAV?
No. Under ideal conditions, HomePlugAV has a physical gross data rate of up to 500Mbps.
The effective net data rate is somewhat lower. A 100Mbps Ethernet adapter is therefore
adequate in most cases.
Does the technology support multicast video server streams (IP-TV)?
Yes.
