NOTE: The Other tab does not appear when Power Management is selected from the Connection Protocol pull-
down menu.
To configure TCP port number, STTY options, break interval and the login banner
for a serial port connected to a device console [Expert]:
1.
Select Expert - Ports - Physical Ports, select a port or ports to modify and click Modify
Selected Ports.
2.
Click the Other tab.
3.
A default TCP port number is displayed in the TCP Port field. Enter an alternate port number
to override the default.
4.
Enter an alias that can be used instead of the IP address to access the serial port in the Port IP
Alias field.
NOTE: The Port IP alias works only when the serial port is configured for direct Telnet or SSH access (see To
configure a serial port for direct connection with Telnet or SSH [Expert]: on page 74.
5.
If connecting to a Microsoft
Emergency Management Services (EMS) console, enable the Windows EMS console
connection protocol only.
6.
To change the Keep Alive interval, enter another number in the TCP Keep-alive Interval field.
7.
To change the idle time-out interval, enter another value in the Idle Timeout field.
8.
Specify stty options, if desired, in the STTY Options field.
9.
To change the break interval, enter a new number in the Break Interval field.
10. To change the break sequence, enter a new sequence in the Break Sequence field.
11. To change the content of the login banner, enter new content in the Login Banner field.
12. Click Done.
13. Click apply changes.
To configure terminal server connection options [Expert]:
Perform this procedure if a terminal is connected to the selected serial port.
1.
Select Expert - Ports - Physical Ports, select a port or ports to modify and click Modify
Selected Ports.
2.
Choose a terminal option from the Connection Protocol pull-down menu on the General
screen. See Table 9.3 on page 72 for a list of terminal options.
3.
Click the Other tab. The Other screen appears.
4.
To change the TCP port number used to access the serial port, enter another number in the TCP
Port field.
5.
To change the Keep Alive interval, enter another number in the TCP Keep-alive Interval field.
6.
To change the idle time-out interval, enter another value in the Idle Timeout field.
