Digital Signal Processor

You can use this unit to control multi-channel
processor (e.g. DEQ-P7650), which is sold sepa-
rately.
! Some functions may differ depending on the
multi-channel processor connected to this
unit.
By carrying out the following settings/adjust-
ments in the order shown, you can create a fi-
nely-tuned sound field effortlessly.
1 Setting the speaker setting
2 Using the position selector
3 Auto TA and EQ (auto-time alignment and auto-
equalizing)
4 Adjusting the time alignment
5 Adjusting the speaker output levels using a
test tone
6 Selecting a cross-over frequency
7 Adjusting the speaker output levels
8 Adjusting 3-band parametric equalizer
When the separately sold
display is connected to this unit
When the separately sold display is connected
to this unit, the setting display will appear on it.
In this manual, operations are described with
head unit's buttons and display.

Introduction of DSP adjustments

Press MULTI-CONTROL to display the
main menu.

Use MULTI-CONTROL to select AUDIO.
Turn to change the menu option. Press to se-
lect.
The audio menu is displayed.

Turn MULTI-CONTROL to select the
audio function.
Turn MULTI-CONTROL to switch between the
audio functions in the following order.
FADER (balance adjustment)—POSITION (po-
sition selector)—PLII (Dolby Pro Logic II)—
PANORAMA (music mode adjust)—SFC
(sound field control)—DOWN MIX (down mix)
—DRC (dynamic range control)—DIRECT (di-
rect)—SLA (source level adjustment)—
AUTO EQ (auto-equalizer on/off)—FRONT
(speaker setting)—HPF (cross-over frequency)
—FRONT-LEFT (speaker output level)—
TEST TONE (test tone)—TA (time alignment
mode)—FRONT-L (time alignment adjust-
ment)—PEQ-2 (3-band parametric equalizer)
# You can also use A.MENU on the remote con-
trol to select an audio menu.
# When playing discs recorded with more than
96 kHz sampling frequency, you cannot use audio
functions. Also, equalizer curve setting,
POSITION, AUTO EQ and AUTO TA will be can-
celled.
# When playing discs recorded with more than
96 kHz sampling frequency, audio is outputted
from front speakers only.
# When both the center speaker and the rear
speaker are set to OFF in the speaker setting, you
cannot switch to PLII.
# All audio functions are locked out when the di-
rect control is on except VOLUME and PLII.
# When you select MUSIC in the PLII, you can
select adjusting music mode.
# When playing other than the DVD disc, you
cannot switch to DRC.
# When selecting FM as the source, you cannot
switch to SLA.
# When you select OFF in TA, you cannot select
FRONT-L.
