IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

Please Retain This User's Guide For Future Reference
When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be
followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons
including the following:
1. Read all instructions before using this fireplace.
2. The heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin
touch hot surfaces. The trim around the heater outlet becomes hot
during heater operation. High temperatures may be generated under
certain abnormal conditions. Do not partially of fully cover the front of
this heater
3. Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near
children or invalids and whenever the unit is left operating and
unattended.
4. Always unplug the fireplace when not in use.
5. Do not operate with a damaged cord or plug, or if the heater has
malfunctioned, or has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
Return heater to authorized service facility for examination, electrical
or mechanical adjustment, or repair.

6. Do not use outdoors.
7. This fireplace is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas and
similar indoor locations. Never locate heater where it may fall into a
bathtub or other water container.
8. Do not run the cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw
rugs, runners, or the like. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where
it will not be tripped over.
9. To disconnect the unit, turn the controls off, then remove the plug
from the outlet.
10. Always use properly grounded, fused and polarized outlets.
11. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or
exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage
to the heater.
12. To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intake or exhaust in any
manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may
become blocked.
13. All electrical heaters have hot and arching or sparking parts inside.
Do not use in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used
or stored or where the unit will be exposed to flammable vapors.
14. Do not modify the fireplace. Use it only as described in this manual.
Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire,
electric shock or injury to persons.
15. To reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance must be grounded.
Avoid the use of an extension cord. Extension cords may overheat and
cause a risk of fire. If you must use an extension cord, the cord must be
No. 14 AWG minimum size and rated no less than 1875 Watts.
16. Do not burn wood or other materials in the fireplace.
17. Always use a certified electrician should new circuits or outlets be
required.
18. Disconnect all power before performing any cleaning, or relocation
of the unit.
19. When transporting or storing the unit and cord, keep in a dry place,
free from excessive vibration and store so as to avoid damage.
20 If the power supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order
to avoid a hazard.
21 The heater must not be located immediately below a socket-outlet.
22. Do not use this fireplace in series with a thermal control, a program
controller, a timer or any other device that switches on the heat
automatically, since a fire risk exists when the fire is accidentally
covered or displaced.
23. In the event of a fault unplug the fireplace.
24. The appliance must be positioned so that the plug is accessible.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
General.
Unpack the fireplace carefully and retain the packaging for possible future
use, in the event of moving or returning the fireplace to your supplier. The
Remote Control and batteries are packed separately in the carton.
The fireplace incorporates a flame effect, which can be used with or
without heating, so that the comforting effect may be enjoyed at any
time of the year. Using the flame effect on its own only requires little
electricity.
This model is designed to be installed in a surround or into a wall recess.
Before connecting the fireplace check that the supply voltage is the same
as that stated on the fireplace.
Please note: Used in an environment where background noise is very low,
it may be possible to hear a sound which is related to the operation of the
flame effect. This is normal and should not be a cause for concern.
CAUTION
DO NOT OPEN
Electrical connection.
WARNING – THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED.
This fireplace must be used on an AC ~ supply only and the voltage
marked on the fireplace must correspond to the supply voltage.
Before switching on, please read the safety warnings and operating
instructions.
PLEASE RETAIN THIS USER'S GUIDE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE
Do not put plastic components into a dishwasher.
Only slide out the drawer when the water tank needs to be filled or a
lamp needs to be changed otherwise you will inadvertently alter the
water level and the flame effect operation.
Only use tap water in this appliance with a maximum hardness of 10 dH
.
Always ensure that the fireplace is sitting on a level floor.
If you intend not using the appliance for longer than 2 weeks, drain the
water from sump and water tank and dry the sump.
Once installed, never move this fireplace or lay on its back, without
draining the water from sump and water tank.
The water tank, sump, sump lid, tank cap and air filters must be cleaned
once every two weeks, particularly in hard water areas.
The fireplace appliance should never be operated if the lamps are not
working.
The lamps should be regularly inspected as described under 'Maintenance'
and 'Changing lamps'.
Installation Instructions
Ensure that all packing items are removed (read any warning labels
carefully).
Retain all packing for possible future use, in the event of moving or
returning the appliance to your supplier.
To reduce heat losses and to prevent any chimney updraught affecting
the operation of your fireplace we recommend that the chimney flue
is blocked off, ensure that there is a slight gap for ventilation.
To install the appliance;
Hold the fireplace by the sides of surround and gently manoeuvre into
position. Plug the fireplace into a 15amp/120 volt outlet. Ensure that the
supply cable exits at the front of the fireplace, at the right or left hand
corner to suit your supply socket location and is not trapped under the
fireplace such that it might cause it to be damaged.
Before switching on the appliance, please read the following
instructions.
Before using the manual controls firstly fill the water tank (See
'Maintenance' , 'Filling the water tank').
Manual Controls.
The manual controls are located behind the drawer.
(See Fig.2 for Manual Control lay out)
Switch 'A':- Controls the electricity supply to the fireplace.
Note: This switch must be in the 'ON' ( I ) position for the fireplace to
operate with or without heat.
Switch 'B':- Controls the function of the fireplace.
Press
once to turn on flame effect. This will be indicated by
one beep.
Although the main lights operate immediately it will take a further
30 seconds before the flame effect starts.
Press
again to give flame effect and half heat. This will be
indicated by two beeps.
Press
again to give flame effect and full heat. This will be
indicated by three beeps.
Press again to return to flame effect only.
This will be indicated by one beep.
Press to put fireplace in to standby mode.
This will be indicated by one beep.
Control Knob 'C':- Controls the intensity of the flame effect.
Turning the control knob clockwise increases the flame effect,
turning the control knob anti-clockwise will decrease the flame
effect.
