The _ (Portrait), _ (Half-length Portrait) and _ (Natural Skin Tone)
modes are suitable for taking pictures of people. The Face Recognition
function (p.76) operates for each shooting mode, making it easier to
emphasize the subject's face when taking pictures.
Portrait For capturing portraits. Reproduces a healthy and
bright skin tone.
For portraits with proper framing by automatic zoom.
Half-length Portrait The number of recorded pixels is fixed to 3M
(2048x 1536).
Natural Skin Tone For images of people. Enhances skin tones while
smoothing blemishes.

1 Press the four-way controller (T) in a mode.
The Capture Mode Palette appears.
2 Usethefour-waycontroller(AT • _)toselect_, _ or

The _, _ or _' mode is selected and the
camera returns to capture status.
When the camera recognizes a person's
face, the Face Recognition function is
activated and the face recognition frame
appears (p.76).
If the camera recognizes a person's face in
mode, an orange frame appears showing the area to be zoomed in.
