Before Requesting Service
If it appears that the DVD Player"is faulty, first consult this checklist, It may be that something has been overlooked, Under no
circumstances should you attemp_ to repair the system yourself: this will invalidate the warranty,
Look For the specific symptom(s),Then pert-otto only the actions listed to remedy the specific symptom(s),

No power ....... H ake sure the power cord connected properl}4
....... H ake sure there is power at theAC outlet by plugging in anoflyer
appliance.
No picture ....... C heck iftheTV ison,
....... C heck the video connection. See page 1 I,
....... H ake sure theTV is on the corredVideo In or Auxiliary channel, See your
TV manual for details,
Distorted picture ....... C heck the disc for fingerprints. Clean the disc with a soft cloth, wiping from
center to edge,
....... S ometimes a small amount of picture distortion may appearThis is not a
malfunction.
No sound ....... C heck audio connedlons.
....... I f you are using a HiFi amplil_ec try another sound source.
....... I f you are using a Receivec select the DVD Player as the sound source at the
receiver:
....... S ome Audio CDs available on the market are copy protected or" enhanced.
These discs will not play on this DVD Player See your retailer 1o purchase
non protected Audio CDs.
....... C heck the Audio setting of a DVD in the DVD Disc menu, if available, and
adjust as necessary Check the DTS (DigitaITheater Systems) or Dolby
Digital options available on the DVD.
Distorted sound from HiFi amplifier ....... H ake sure no audio connections are made to the amplifier's phono input,
No audio at digital output ....... C heck the digital connedions.
....... C heck the settings menu to make sure the digital audio output is set correctl}4

....... C heck if the audio format of the selected audio language matches your
receiver capabilities,
Disc can not be played. Ensure the disc label is facing up,
....... C lean the disc.
....... C heck if the disc is defective by trying another disc,
....... C heck if the disc is badly scratched or warped (not flat).
No return to start-up screen when ....... R eset by switching the DVD Player of[, then on again,
disc is removed ....... C heck to see if the Program requires anolher disc to be loaded.
The DVD Player does not respond to ....... A im the remote control directly at the DVD Player
the remote control. Remove any obstacles between the DVD Player and the remote control.
....... I nspecl or replace the batteries in the remote control.
Buttons do not work. In order to completely reset the player; unplug the AC power cord from the
AC outlet,
DVD Player does not respond to some ....... O perahons may not be permitted by the disc, Refer to the instructions or
operating commands during menu of the disc. If _ appears, the feature is not available on the disc,
playback.
DVD Player cannot read ....... Y ou carl only play finalized discs, If you are using CD ROH, CD R or CD RW
CDs/DVDs. discs, make sure you have finalized the discs. Refer to your CD Recorder
owner's manual for details.
