TROUBLESHOOTING
Your video camcorder is a highly sophisticated instrument. It has been carefully checked and adjusted at the
factory under the most rigid quality control and inspection systems. However, should problems develop, check
the following points and take the necessary corrective measures.
INSERTING OR REMOVING THE CASSETTE
Symptom Check Point & Correction
Cassette Holder cannot be opened when you press • Connect the Power Source. Check condition of
"EJECT" button, power source (such as Battery, AC adaptor
power light, etc.).
Cassette cannot be inserted into Cassette • Load cassette in direction indicated by arrow on
Compartment. cassette.
• Cassette window must be toward outside.
CAMERA RECORDING
Symptom Check point & Correction
Picture does not appear in the Viewfinder. • Remove the Lens Cap.
• Set "CAM/OFFNCR" switch to "CAM" position.
The video camcorder will not go into the recording
mode, even when "Record Start/Stop" button is
pressed.
Picture is out of focus. Auto-Focus does not
operate.
The cassette has had the erasure prevention tab
removed. Stick a piece of cellophane tape over
the erasure prevention hole or select a different
cassette.
Check power source.
Set "CAM/OFFNCR" switch to "CAM" position.
• Set "AUTO/MANUAL" switch to "AUTO"
• Do not block the auto focus window.
• The video camcorder is set to "NEAR" mode.
