Using the oven.
How to Set the Oven for Baking
Ell Touchthe Bakepad.
[] Touchthe + or - padsto setthe desired
temperature.
[] TouchtheStart pad.
[] Checkfoodfor doneness at minimumtime on
recipe.Cooklongerif necessary.
[] Touchthe Clear/Off pad whencookingis
complete.
Preheating and Pan Placement
Preheat the oven if the recipe calls for it.
To preheat, set the oven at the correct
temperature. Preheating is necessary for
good results when baking cakes, cookies,
pastries and breads.
For ovens without a preheat indicator light or
tone, preheat !0 minutes.
Baking results will be better if the food is
centered in the oven as much as possible.
Angel Puns should not touch each other or
the walls of the oven. If you need to use two
racks, stagger the pans so one is not directly
above the other. Leave approximately i 1/2"
between pans and from the front, back and
sides of oven wall.
Aluminum Foil
Do not use aluminum foil to line oven bottoms.
The foil will trap heat below, and upset the
performance of the oven. Foilcan melt and
permanently damage the oven bottom.
Damage from improper use of aluminum foil is
not covered by the product warranty.
Foilmay be used to catch spills by placing a
sheet on a lower rack, several inches below
the food. Do not use more foil than necessary,
and never entirely cover an oven rack with
aluminum foil. Keep foil at least ! !/2" from the
oven walls to prevent poor heat circulation.
How to Set the Oven for Broiling
[Z] Placethe meat or fish on a broiler grid in a
broiler pan designed for broiling.
Touch the Broil Hi/Lo pad once for Hi Broil.
To change to Lo Broil, touch the Broil Hi/
Lo pad again.
Ifyour oven is connected to 208 volts,rare steaks
may be broiled by preheating the broiler and
positioning the oven shelf one position higher.
Touch the Start pad.
When broiling is finished, touch the Clear/
Off pad.
