E. Removing the Ribbon Cartridge The printerÕs Ribbon Cartridge is located inside the unit during shipment. Remove the cartridge from the printer using the following procedure: Press the Cover Release Lever. Allow the cover to swing up and open. With the cover open, you can see the Ribbon Cartridge. - Page 18 Flip open the Ribbon Cartridge Cover. NOTE B. Loading Ribbon into the Ribbon Cartridge Follow these steps to load ribbon into the Ribbon Cartridge: Remove the ribbon from its box. For wax thermal ribbons, remove the end caps which were used for shipping protection. For dye-sublimation ribbons, simply remove the ribbon from its plastic wrap. - Page 21 IMPORTANT! DO NOT REVERSE THE RIBBON. DAMAGE MAY OCCUR TO THE THERMAL PRINT HEAD! After the ribbon has been installed into the Ribbon Cartridge, close the Ribbon Cartridge Cover. PrimeraPro uses a standard Centronics parallel port, commonly referred to as LPT1 or LPT2 on most PCÕs. (72 dpi) resolution. Since rasterization is done at a lower resolution, the printer will begin printing faster. The 300 x 300 selection will give much better results but will require more time for rasterization and more memory. - Page 48 72 dots per inch (dpi). When a 72-dpi bitmap is printed on a high- resolution printer, the number of dots in the image must be increased. Each dot on the printer is smaller than a pixel on the screen; therefore, dots must be added to maintain the overall size.

The Better bitmap scaling option works by enlarging the size of the print enough for all 72-dpi bitmaps to be printed with an integer dot increase. Make sure that the power cord is plugged in securely on both ends and that the printer is turned on. Confirm power is applied by pressing the Power button on the printer. The green LED above both the Power and the On line buttons should be illuminated. - Page 74 Replace media as required. Check that paper or transparency film is pushed all the way into the printer (see NOTE #1 at the end of Section 4-F). Also, check for a paper jam. Be sure to turn the printer off and on, then cancel and restart your print job if you detect and clear a jam.
- Page 75 Most likely due to dust inside the printer. Review the procedures in Section 10 for cleaning the inside of the printer. Also, be sure the Ribbon Cartridge is clean and free of any dust particles.

If you are having difficulty using the FARGO driver, run through the following check list. Is the printer plugged into the wall outlet? Is the Power light on? Is the printer selected in the Chooser? Is the printer connected to the printer... - Page 81 Make sure that the printer is visible from the Chooser and that its name is listed and selected. If it is not visible, make sure that the printer has power and is connected to AppleTalk network or the printer port of the Macintosh. Try disconnecting and re-applying power to the printer.
