This is the most important
part of using you:_"VCR, but often the
most confusing:
how do you view a picture
coming from the VCR?
Viewingthe picturecomingfrom your VCR if you are using an
older TV

Turn on your TV and tune it to channel
3 or 4.
Turn on the VCR by pressing
the POWER
button.
Check to see if the '_VCR" light on the front panel display
is
lit. If it is not lit, press the VCWTV button
until it is lit.
You are viewing the picture
t_om your VCR!
With this set-up, you will use the VCRITV button
when recording,
when viewing tapes
or broadcast
stations
through
your VCR, or
before using the VCR's menus.
You also use l:he VCR/TV button
to switch back to normal
TV viewing.
If you set the "RF converter"
setting
of the "C,ustomize
choices"
menu to ON, you don't need to use the VCI_?V
button
when
viewing tapes. (See page 48. )

modern TV

Turn on your TV and switch it to the correct external

until you see the words "Ext',"Input',

Turn the VCR on by pressing
the POWER
button.

the picture
from your VCR!
If you wish to return
to normal
TV viewing,
switch your TV's
input back to its previous
position.
If you are using a modern
TV, be sure to set the "RF converter"
of
the "Customize
choices" menu to OFF to pre,ent
noise in the
picture.

or an A/V
receiver,
refer to your home theater
receiver's
owner's guide.
