A de-scaling
solution
can
be prepared
in a plastic
basin
with
Nu-Calgon
Nickel-Safe
Ice Machine
Cleaner.
Mix 4 ounces
of the ice machine
cleaner
per
gallon
of warm
water.
8.
Remove
the sprinkler
arm from
the interior.
Thoroughly
clean
the sprinkler
arm by soaking
it in the basin
filled with the de-scaling
solution
until
it is free
of any deposit;
use a soft brush
to remove
any thick or stubborn
residue
and to
help the dissolving
action.
Rinse
under
a stream
of tap water.

Wipe
down
the interior
of the water bin with the de-scaling
solution
and warm
water.
Rinse
thoroughly
with clear water.
10. Reassembly
properly
the sprinkler
arm, slideway
and the flake covers.

Minerals
that are removed
from
water
during
the freezing
cycle
will
eventually
form a hard scaly deposit
in the water
system.
Cleaning
the system
regularly
helps
remove
the
mineral
scale
buildup.
How
often
you
need
to clean
the system
depends
upon
how
hard your
water
is. With hard water
of 4 to 5 grains/liter,
you
may need to clean the system
as often
as every
6 months.

Turn off power
to the ice maker.
Keep
the ice maker
connecte
to the water
supply
and drainpipe.

Open
the door
and scoop
out all of the ice cubes.
Either
discard
them
